GET ON THE HUB NETWORK
These Instructions are for the program DC++. They may not work on other programs. Still can't get on? Email us here.
- Download DC++ by clicking here.
- Install it.
- Run it for the first time. You'll need to set your preferences so you can have access to the hubs.
- Click on File --> Settings...
- Click on 'General' on the left side of the window.
- Enter a Nick Name. Any other info is optional.
- Click on 'Passive' to start with for the Connection Setting.
- Click on 'Downloads' on the left side of the window.
- Choose a directory on your computer where you want to put everything you download from the hub for the 'Default download directory'.
- If you would like to store the temp files that are created in a different folder, choose a different folder for the 'Unfinished downloads directory'.
- Click on 'Sharing' on the left side of the window.
- Choose a folder that has at least 1 gig of information in it. (No studio recordings, only bootleg material allowed) To choose this folder, click 'Add Folder' and choose it.
- Choose at least the minimum number of open slots per hub under 'Upload Slots'. (EX. I'm in 2 hubs which require a minimum of 2 slots per hub, so I have 4 in the 'Upload Slots' field.
- Click 'OK' on the window to save your settings. Now you can add a hub to connect to.
ADDING HUBS TO DC++
- Open DC++
- Click on the Yellow Star in the Tool Bar at the top of the page
- Click on the New.. button right above the lower section of the page.
(For this example, we'll use Superbayman's Hub)
- Enter the following information in the fields:
Name: Superbayman's Trading Hub
Address: ac-dc-boots.no-ip.info
Description: AC/DC Trading Hub
Nick, Password, Description are all optional. If your nickname is taken in this hub, you can enter a new one here.
- Click OK to save your new hub
- You can now double click to open your connection to that hub. If you wish to have this hub open automatically when you open DC++, click the checkbox next to the hub name on the Favorite Hubs screen.
